As you may know, this month, we are speaking all about inner beauty and how clean eating can influence how you feel from the inside through to the outside. We've already had a chat about what clean eating can do for the body and how the smallest changes to the diet can help you love your body all the more. But, we want to give you a little more insight into the types of foods you can eat to enjoy a clean diet every day.
Keep reading to discover the foods that will transform your life, your mood and the way you feel. Remember, loving yourself back is as much about eating the right foods as anything else.
Fruit For Clean Eating
It's no surprise that the first appearance on this list is fruit. It's such a great and critical part of your diet which can help you nourish your gut with the love it deserves. We know. There's so much in the news about the sugar content in fruit and how it 'may not actually be good for you.' Here's a reminder that natural sugar and refined sugar are two very different things, and natural sugars in fruit have many positive benefits.
Fruit also contains powerful vitamins and minerals, helping you guarantee your body is getting all of the goodness it needs.
Reminder: Fresh fruit is always the best, as canned alternatives may have added sugars. Where canned is your only choice, be sure to check the label.
Some of the best fruits you can include in your diet are avocados, sweet corn, pineapple, onions and honeydew.

Vegetables
Vegetables are an obvious follow-up to fruit on this list. Packed with minerals, fibre and essential vitamins, they can help remove toxins from your body, reduce inflammation and keep you feeling great. Plus, they can be incorporated into many dishes, from rice to curries to skillets and everything in between! You can even blend them up to make a delicious hidden-vegetable pasta sauce. Different veggies are also packed with different benefits. Some can support brain health, some energy levels and some gut health. When all of these facets of your health are feeling great, you'll notice that your emotional health also improves, boosting your mood and helping you make better choices. See, it's true what we say about inner health fueling outer health.
It's a cycle!
Some veggies you need to ensure you're eating more of include broccoli, spinach, asparagus, beetroot and capsicum! If you struggle with the taste of veggies, you can also try marinating them in our Sweet Balsamic Reduction. Trust us, you'll be hooked in no time.
Nuts
Before you ask, we know. Nuts can be high in calories, and if you're trying to achieve a deficit, they can be hard to incorporate into your diet. However, a small handful of nuts a day is the perfect way to get those healthy fats into your body that you need to feel great. This is because, as well as being fantastic natural energy sources, they are also packed with nutrients that can help your body thrive.
Be careful, however. Not all nuts carry the same benefits as one another. And yes, sad as it may be, those tasty, flavour-covered nuts usually do more harm than good. Not sure which nuts are the best for you? Some of our favourites include:
Almonds: Super high in vitamin E and magnesium, these nuts can help lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease.
Cashews: Packed with zinc, magnesium and copper, these nuts can promote great immune support, bone health and energy production, making them fantastic for all-around wellness. They are also shown to improve heart health and cholesterol levels.
Macadamias: Great for heart health, these nuts can give your body the boost it craves. They also contain thiamin and manganese to support metabolism and bone health.
Pistachios: A great choice for weight management, these lower-calorie nuts have high fibre and are rich in antioxidants. They're also high in lutein and zeaxanthin, which are great for promoting healthy vision. This makes them fantastic for promoting healthy blood sugar levels, which can also reduce the risk of diabetes.
Grains
Grains, like those found in cereal, are filled with fibre, vitamins, minerals and a range of nutrients that can make you feel great. That's why they're so often in our breakfast foods! If you're worried that you have gluten intolerance, however, you don't need to worry. Many healthy grains are 100% gluten-free and great for eating, even when your gut doesn't agree with wheat. Some of our favourite gluten-free grains to enjoy include quinoa, oats, buckwheat and psyllium husk.
Depending on the type of grain, you can enjoy a range of benefits, from increased iron to better digestion and even weight loss. Taking your time to understand the benefits of each grain you consume will allow you to eat more potent gut-loving ones each day.
