Why is ginger a must for your gut?
Okay. Before you say yuck. We get it. Aside from dabbling with it in your curries, ginger probably isn't a food you're eating a lot if you enjoy a Western diet. When freshly grated or minced, it can be quite pungent, too. But this is not a reason to avoid it! When cooked and prepared properly, or mixed with the right blend of spices, it can work wonders for the gut while tickling your tastebuds. Don't believe us? The proof is in the absolute love and adoration for our Spicy Ginger Latte, a gluten-free coffee alternative that packs a punch.
Ginger has a myriad of benefits, almost too many for us to list in just this blog. So, we've condensed it for you. Some of the reasons you need to get this gut-loving goodness into your diet more include:
- Digestive support: Ginger helps you go to the toilet more by cleaning out those gut nasties. It will help you say no to bloating and hello to a healthier feeling you.
- Great for nausea: Whether you're feeling unwell, experiencing morning sickness or get car sick, a little ginger goes a long way for settling the gut and transforming the way you feel.
- It's a powerful anti-oxidant: We breathe, consume and surround ourselves with so many toxins each day. Ginger helps to clear away these toxins so you can spend more time feeling your healthiest self.
Mix it with a little bit of chocolate from the Jomeis Fine Foods healthy chocolate cacao latte in this healthy recipe and you've got a match made in heaven.
Moderation is still key.
Yes, we said you can indulge in this goody. But like all things, too much of a good thing can be a bad thing. Remember that your body needs a variety of nutrients to feel its best and that ginger and chocolate alone can't foster that healthy gut microbiome. When you add diversity to your diet, you're giving yourself a chance to truly embrace the lifestyle your body is craving. Pair it with a walk each night, a trip to the pool or your weekly pilates, and your body, skin and mind will really begin to flourish.

- Place in the fridge until set. Around one hour.
