Are you eating enough vegetables? When you're asking yourself 'How can I eat healthier,' eating more vegetables should be on the top of the list. This is because they're packed with gut-boosting benefits, antioxidants, anti-inflammatories and a range of vitamins and minerals. However, it can be hard to get your eight a day, especially when enjoying a typical Western diet.

When simply steamed, while we think delicious, they can also get repetitive in your meal plan, making it hard for you to keep to your diet. But what if we told you that you can enjoy the same benefits of vegetables with an added pop of flavour and deliciousness? And you don't need much more than the Jomeis Fine Foods Sweet Balsamic Reduction on your side.

What is our Sweet Balsamic Reduction?

The first of its kind in Australia, our Sweet Balsamic Reduction is achieved by cooking down balsamic until it's no longer bitter and tangy. It's much easier to enjoy than regular balsamic vinegar for this reason, and it doesn't have the same long, lingering aftertaste. What makes this even better is that due to its sweet flavour, you can enjoy it over much more than just your regular salad. You can also appreciate it over ice cream, strawberries, meat, vegetables and so much more. Our balsamic has also earned countless reviews from customers, commenting that it is 'God's Nectar' and "Liquid Gold." It only takes one taste to be hooked! Trust us.

Is Balsamic Vinegar Good For You?

Balsamic vinegar is something we all recommend getting more of in your diet! Its acidic makeup is great for breaking down food in the gut, easing indigestion, lowering cholesterol and filling your stomach with healthy bacteria. It's also low in sugar and fat, meaning it's a great way to add a flavour hit to your meals without the consequences you may experience with other dressings, such as mayonnaise!

Like all products, you must compare your options on the market. While balsamic vinegar as a while is good for you, additional ingredients added to achieve certain tastes aren't always. Knowing what's in the bottle you choose to take home is crucial! Fortunately, we're also passionate about keeping your balsamic as good for you as possible here at Jomeis Fine Foods. So, you can trust that every delectable bottle is more than just flavour, it's a gut-health booster unlike any other

What Vegetables Are The Best To Consume?

All vegetables are great, but some are better than others (sorry potatoes). That's why it's important to choose ones that give you a varied diet and will help you get plenty of the vitamins and minerals your body is craving. Try to gather a mixture of healthy greens, root vegetables and seeded vegetables for the best benefits. We love mixing broccoli, eggplant, tomatoes, red onion and capsicum for a colourful tray packed with flavour.

How to Make Balsamic-Glazed Vegetables?

The Ingredients

  • Roasting vegetables of your choosing
  • 1/4 cup of Jomeis Fine Foods Sweet Balsamic Reduction
  • 3 tablespoons of honey
  • Olive oil for roasting

The Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 220 degrees Celsius.
  • Toss your vegetables in olive oil until they are coated. You may add some salt, cumin, paprika or turmeric for extra flavour if desired.
  • Cook for 30-40 minutes, or until the most tender vegetables have softened. You may need to stir or rotate your vegetables once every 15 minutes to stop them from sticking to the edges of your roasting pan.
  • While they're cooking, heat the sweet balsamic reduction and honey together on a low heat, hot enough to melt the honey.
  • Remove your vegetables from the oven, coat them in the balsamic mix and toss.
  • Bake for another 15 minutes until sticky.
  • Enjoy!
